Opportunties

Undergraduates

Undergraduates can volunteer, receive directed research credit, or develop a project funded through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (see other opportunities here). Students are expected to have an excellent work ethic, ability to work ~10 hours per week, and a genuine interest in developing an independent research project. Undergraduate students interested in working in the Fixen lab can contact me at kfixen [at] umn.edu. Please include a short statement about why you are interested in working in the lab, your expected graduation date, your GPA, and one reference.

Graduate students

The Fixen lab has positions available for motivated graduate students that are excited to learn more about ongoing projects in the lab. Currently, the lab can accept students that are enrolled in the PMB or MICaB graduate program.

Postdoctoral fellows

If you are interested in pursuing postdoctoral work in the Fixen lab, please contact me at kfixen [at] umn.edu with a coverletter that includes why you are interested in joining the lab, a current CV, and contact information for three references.
